GNOME.Asia峰会，一个在亚洲推广GNOME的大型活动，内容包括GNOME的桌面、GNOME的应用程式和开发平台等等。我们将会把来自 不同亚洲地区与GNOME有关的企业、社区及个人聚集在一起，为GNOME的用户、开发者、基金会成员、个人、政府及企业等提供一个平台，向他们介绍有关 GNOME与其在亚洲各地不同社区的状况。

首届的GNOME.Asia峰会由GNOME 基金会，Sun Microsystems, 北京 Linux 用户组 (BLUG) 和 中国开源软件推广联盟 (COPU)联手组织，将会在2008年10月18和19日在中国北京市北京航空航天大学内的新主楼举行。我们预期峰会到时候将会有大概300位与会者来临参加。为期两天的活动，我们将会邀请到多位与GNOME相关的技术高手与社区会员来演讲，主题围绕着怎么让GNOME社区在亚洲更强壮，另外我们更会为用户介绍不同的 GNOME平台的科技。为了让更多用户和开发者一起参与GNOME的开发，我们更会向大家介绍GNOME不同的项目。最后当然还有小组讨论与各位探讨 GNOME在亚洲遇到的不同挑战。这样一个亚洲盛会，绝对不可以错过。

The first ever GNOME.Asia Summit is going to taking place at the Beihang university, Beijing, China , from October 18th to 19th , 2008. GNOME Foundation is organizing GNOME.Asia Summit in collaboration with Sun Microsystems, Beijing Linux User Group (BLUG) and China OSS Promotion Union (COPU).Approximately 300 people are expected to attend. During the two day summit there will be a variety of presentations focusing on growing the Asia GNOME community and showcasing GNOME platform technologies. There will also be demonstrations of upcoming projects and brainstorming discussions of challenges different facets of GNOME in Asia.

The GNOME.Asia Summit focuses primarily on the GNOME desktop, applications, development platform, and the larger GNOME-related community in Asia. The GNOME.Asia Summit brings together the GNOME-related community in Asia and provides a forum for GNOME users, developers, foundation leaders, individuals, governments and businesses to discuss a range of topics relating to GNOME and the GNOME community in Asia.
